Porcelain hardneck variety. Cultivated in Ontario, Canada by John Yovanov, and brought to the U.S. by Idaho garlic grower Rick Bangert. It has a complex and subtle flavor, not as spicy as other Porcelains when eaten raw. Very productive in cold winter climates. A popular variety favored by garlic growers throughout the Pacific Northwest and New England. It has classic teardrop shaped bulbs that are characteristic of the Porcelain horticulture group. 4 to 6 cloves per bulb. 40 to 45 cloves per pound. Late harvest. Stores 5 to 6 months. Zones 1 to 7.
