Turban hardneck variety. Originally purchased at a NW Beijing bazaar via Greg Czarnecki of Dayton Ohio. This early harvest variety makes a great garlic to bring to market; they are a real treat after sorting through last years left over garlic. The Turban horticultural group is named for the umbel capsule that resembles a true turban. Turbans are a sub group of the Artichoke group; they have weak scapes and are quick to bolt. 8-10 cloves per bulb. 42-50 cloves per pound. Early harvest. Stores 6 – 7 months. Recommended for Zones 2 to 10. Produces scapes. Medium to hot.
