Turban hardneck garlic variety
Xian Turban garlic was discovered at a Farmers Market in San Francisco’s China Town. It originated from the Xi’an province in China, AKA “Xi’an and Chinatown Xian”. An unidentified woman brought it into the U.S. without being claimed through customs. A favorite varietal of garlic expert Chester Aaron. A great garlic for varied climates, it can handle hot dry climates as well as cold northern climates. Outer bulb skins are dappled with purple and white pinstripes.
