Hi Terri! We love y’all’s garlic – the softnecks we get always grow quite well here. We had a very weird, early harvest season for the garlic here. It’s been very wet, so it grew really well very quickly. – I’m glad we’ve got a great company like Hood River to order from. Thanks again! ~ Danelle in Miles TX
Thanks, Terri. We love your garlic and looking forward to another tasty year. Patty ~ Patty in Portland OR
Hi Terri, We are looking forward to receiving more of your beautiful garlic stock! Best regards, Jill ~ Jill in Chattanooga TN
I am in love with all my garlic plants. My facebook friends are probably sick of hearing how much we have been enjoying our scape pesto. When I was getting slim on garlic scapes I also added radish leaves and horseradish leaves to help it go a long ways. We know the best still is yet to come, I look forward every year to grow my varieties and to buy a few more new ones from you. ~ Kate in Epsom NH
Very happy with your product! ~ Laura and Alan in Scotts Hill TN
Hey Terri, I want “in” for the current crop. We like the bold and flavorful varities. The current crop purchased from you last summer is looking fantastic with large, sturdy stalks. Sure to be beautiful product! Thanks Terri ~ Alan in Powell Butte OR

Thanks again and best regards ~ Tim in Ellicott City MD
Up until today, we had no bare ground around our little piece of earth. Temps in the 60s made a difference and the world is awash with water. We loved the garlic we got from you. It produced very well with great quality, and we are looking forward to this years crop! Best ~ Jan in Perham ME
Terri, My garlic is up and looking great. ~ Tom in Lansing MI
Terri, Tell me who’s garlic is better than yours! ( answer : no one’s ) ~ Richard in Lynbrook NY
After a terrible winter, my scapes were harvested today. Bumper crop and just wanted to say thank you for reassuring me of the outcome !! ~ Kim in Danvers, MA
Hi Terri, Just wanted to follow up on our discussion from last summer. The new garlic seed you sent is just fantastic. We had a wet early spring and a very dry late spring, and I harvested quite early it seems. Some is still in the ground, but most had to come up already! I am so glad you recommended the Susanville, it did great and the bulbs I harvested are huge and sturdy. The Metechi also did well (though most of it is still in the ground and going strong), and the Chesnok Red as well did great. Thank you again for being a great company, and for your fantastic customer service. I really appreciate it. ~ Emily in Alexander NC
Thanks so much. This will be my first year of planting garlic and I’m very excited. Not only do I love raw garlic but now I find it’s recommended for treating Lyme disease, too! You can’t beat that. ~ Joan in Sebastopol CA
We’re still enjoying the January garlic!! ~ Steve in Nashua NH
Hi Terri, The bulbs arrived today. They look real good. I hope to plant this Saturday or asp. Thanks for all you help…I do appreciate it. ~ Carl in Black Creek NC
Hi Terri, I just wanted to let you know that the garlic is amazing and so beautiful! All of the bulbs were in such good shape-you really grow great seed garlic. Everyone was so excited to get it and we’ve all now planted it. Thanks so much for sending it early! We actually ended up having a mild fall, so things still haven’t frozen up and we might just get the 3-4 weeks that we need! I hope that your fall is going well and thanks again for all of your help! ~ Brook in Anchorage AK
Terri, I can see why you prefer to plant Susanville, especially for your braids. It is gorgeous stuff and will last longer than the hard necks.. Thanks for talking me into it, it’s lovely. Happy fall! Rita ~ Rita in Seattle WA
I have a very small garden, haven’t been into growing garlic a lot. But, I do expect to grow and learn about it. Your website has been a very useful tool for me, and you have been more than helpful, Terri….thank you. ~ Lenny in Frewsburg NY
I just wanted to let you know my aunt just called me and she LOVES your garlic!! She said it’s the best birthday present she’s ever gotten! I just wanted to thank you again for doing this for me. You really made her day! 🙂 ~ Traci in Poneto IN
Terri, Thank you so much! We actually just found you and are delighted! We normally grow our own seed garlic, but this year, it did not do as well as usual, so we found ourselves scrambling! Your selection of varieties and the information on the webpage is terrific! We want to try several varieties, so next year we will order earlier! Thanks ~ Jan in Perham ME
Hi Teri: Thanks for such a great product. We harvested what we got from you last year and is finishing up curing and some of the bulbs were massive. Everyone I show them to were really impressed. ~ Kathi in Wixom MI
Hi Terri, Thank you so much for the kind note! We are so much enjoying your great garlic seed!! Will be looking forward to this October’s planting. ~ Julie in Denton TX
Thanks Terri! I used my own garlic for seed this past fall and so far did well. In fact, now that most of my garden is in raised beds, the garlic did REALLY good! I just didn’t plant as much, and now wish I had. I planted Chesnok Red (our favorite), Transylvanian and Susanville (grown from my seed order in 2011). The Susanville bulbs ended up growing a lot of corms outside of the bulb, not sure why. I just pulled the Chesnoks today, they look really nice. Transylvanians aren’t quite ready yet. Looking forward to my variety pack, trying new kinds! Your garlic is hands down THE BEST. Thanks for all your hard work! ~ Michele in Molalla OR
Hi Terri, Thanks ! Your Susanville garlic always blows me away…it LOVES Colorado soil & climate. I had bought some garlic locally, and yours is so obviously superior, (just like Laurel’s Heirloom Tomatoes in CA), that I will never order anywhere else again! Truthfully, I hope I have enough left over for my own seed garlic next year – didn’t plant enough this year! Rats!!
I do have a question for you – I was fairly shocked at how many varieties you were already sold out of for this year. i.e. I really wanted to try Nootka Rose, but although on your ‘garlic planting stock’ page it doesn’t say ‘sold out’, But my real question is:what time of year is the best time to order when you have the most available stock? I’ll undoubtedly be trying some new varieties next year & would like to have as much choice as possible. …(Terri says…Answer is… Before June! )Thanks for offering your garlic to us! Love it! ~ Gete in Boulder CO
Hi Terri, I always like to get a few new varieties from you each year. Last year I got China Stripe which I harvested about a week ago. I totally love it! Big plump ruby striped bulbs, juicy and flavorful. We had the absolute best garlic bread in memory. Yours in garlic, Dianne ~ Dianne in Portland OR
Loving our garlic!!!! ~ Lesley in Southampton NY
Terri: Thanks! Thought you would like to know that I dug my Shantung Purple this week (ready here along NJ coast) and it is simply gorgeous, large bulbs and some beautiful red/purple streaking. Can’t wait ’til its ready for my kitchen. My Music, Leningrad and Keeper are also looking good in the ground; scapes haven’t started to turn brown quite yet. Your stock is simply great. ~ Carol in Manahawkin NJ
Here are my garlic beds this year, did not lose a single clove over the winter, great stock!! ~ Mike in O’Fallon MO
Terri, Thank you for your email. I have emailed 5 other growers and placed orders with 2 others; none of them have contacted me or returned any emails. I really do appreciate the email and look forward to doing more business with you in the future. ~ Phil in New Wilmington PA
Comment: Hi, I have been meaning to email you to let you know how TOTALLY IMPRESSED I am with my garlic so far, I brought from you in the fall last year and planted Spanish Roja – and so far they have grown strong, and large and look fantastic, they have such amazing thick stalks and I am SO excited for my harvest this year. I tell everyone ALL the time about my garlic plants and where I got them from.
I look forward to updating you with bumper crop news.
(next email reply…) I am so impressed, I can’t wait for harvest time… I can’t get over how the plants are so uniform in their growth, all the same height and look so healthy.. I knew they would be good when I got the bulbs to plant. ~ Debbie in Maple Valley WA
Thanks, Terri! I love your garlic! I use grow bags due to space limitations and a large tree that makes it difficult to plant in-ground. As you can see, I have also taken to growing other plants (mainly squash) in with the garlic while I wait for the tops to brown enough for me to harvest. They seem to coexist happily. ~ David in Silver Spring MD
Your garlic is wonderful! ~ Traci in Poneto IN

Hi, My current garlic crop is growing like trooper, I am pleased to say that I have been able to take some bulbs each season to replant for the next season and I am getting fantastic results. I can not have chosen a better garlic 🙂 Enjoy the Spring! I am so excited to get my garden going again! ~ Debbie in Maple Valley WA
Terri, Thank you for you e-mail. You have excellent garlic, and I wouldn’t want to miss out on it this season. However, we already have scapes coming up from the garlic we planted in the fall. And our CSA provides us with some nice garlic too. We are moving soon, though, and will have a little more property to work with, so if I should order more garlic stock, I will certainly turn to Hood River Garlic. Thanks! ~ Andrea in Yardley PA
Hi Terri, I’ve just placed an order. I want to tell you that last summer I gave some garlic to my neighbors and they loved it! They ordered 3 varieties from you. The weather here in Maryland was beautiful this past weekend, and we were chatting by our gardens. Cyndi asked me “what do I do now?”, and I told her to visit your garlic calendar – every time I had a question on growing garlic, your calendar had a detailed answer. ~ Tim Ellicott City MD
They arrived and I am very happy with them. I can’t wait to plant! Take care ~ Darla in Allison Park PA
Hi, Just received the garlic. It looks great and nice job with the packaging and info sheets!! Thanks ~ Dan in Clearlake CA

Thank you the order arrived and looks and smells great, I can’t wait till cool weather to get to planting. ~ William in Campbellsville KY
Terri, I wanted to let you know about how the garlic you sold me turned out. The Nootka Rose was stellar. Every clove that I planted produced. I’ve kept some for use but most of it went into the ground about a week ago for harvest next year. The Susanville wasn’t as productive, but I was able to plant about 20 cloves. I’m interested to see how they overwinter and I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for all your help. ~ Mary, Tok, AK
Gosh yes, you folks are great. Am looking forward to this years fall planting. Many thanks, Terri. ~ William, Anchorage, AK
I just wanted to let you know we just harvested our garlic. About 150 heads of them. The are beautiful and all my friends are very jealous. I just love your garlic, it has purple stripes. Love it !!!! Thanks 🙂 ~ Kim, Danvers, MA

We received the Garlic of the Month Club last year as a gift for our wedding show and loved it so much my husband decided he wanted the larger package for his birthday. We are looking forward to the delicious garlic! ~ Liz, Lincoln, NE
Thanks Terri, We hope to order more from you next season to replace stock that we have had growing for a number of years. Some of our stock came from my wife’s family farm in Iowa. We are making garlic powder and have been fro a couple of years. I’m using your method as per the web site. I must say, it has been a hit with family and friends we have gifted. I may have to expand our grow beds. At the moment, we have harvested about 150 each year. A friend says it’s the best garlic she has ever had and that it lasts longer than the store bought. Thanks again for what you all are doing. ~ Ken, Vashon, WA
Wow! You guys are great to do business with. This is awesome. Checks in the mail! ~ LaRea, Wood Village, OR
2011 garlic order has been harvested. Wow! It did great. I had two of the cloves split and produce not one but two blubs. I am enjoying the fresh garlic. Looking forward to my next order in the fall. Just wanted to let you know how well the garlic did here in hot dry northern Michigan. We sure need the rain. ~ Ruth, Harrisville, MI
You are welcome, Terri! And thank you for your garlic offerings! I saw that some of your speciality garlic was already sold out. Next year I will try to remember to get a little earlier start on thinking about planting my garlic. Your selection and service are awsome! Many thanks and well done! ~ Nancy, Dayton, NV
Thanks Terri! I’m so excited to grow garlic. I got referred to your place from Seattle Seed Company. I love ordering stuff from our local vendors. I’m betting you’ll be getting more orders since garlic scapes seem to be the latest foodie thing right now. 🙂 Have a great day! ~ Melissa, Stanwood, WA
Terri-I am so glad that I ordered early this year. Last year I was late and had little choice as to what kind I could get. This year I wanted the ones with the longest storage life, which I was able to get by ordering this early. ~ Maureen, Twin Lakes, WI
Terri, thanks so much. I really appreciate your advice. Glad I ordered the right things! Thanks again ~ Linda, Lilburn, GA
Hi, I am harvesting beautiful softnecks that you sent to me last fall. They are hanging to dry in my garage. I plan to teach a garlic braiding class in Sept. – to about 10 folks. They’re really terrific garlics, and you have a lovely website. What a profound joy to be working in the shadow of the mountain. ~ Mary, Willimantic, CT
Thank You, Terri. Glad I found you folks. You have a good selection of garlic. Best of luck with your harvest and shipping. ~ Bill,Anchorage, AK

Terri, It is always a pleasure planting your garlic. I would like to tell you about a project my wife and I are doing. We are extending our growing by 3/4 of an acre to grow food for donation to food banks and some local programs to get good food to people who need it. Thanks for your time and looking forward to planting for next year. ~ Pat, Durham NC
Just wanted to say, thanks for the info., and what a terrific website this is! ~ Celeste, Junction City, OR
Thank YOU for growing such wonderful garlic! 🙂 We love it love it love it !!! I can’t believe this will be our 3rd year already! Have a great summer Terri! ~ Traci, Poneto IN
Thanks Terri, That makes lots of sense. I read a post that used the towel to remoisten, but I was thinking why couldn’t I just braid when the leaves go limp? So your answer helped out a lot! (See FAQ’s page under Garlic Braids) I am so excited! So, two years ago I purchased seed from you all and planted and saved seed from that and then purchased some susanville last year and planted. I am leasing a 1/2 acre this year and plan on moving from my community garden plot where I planted your seed to my new place. I love growing garlic. Thank you for the best seed, and the inspiration, and as always your speedy emails with my questions. Take care ~ Marisa, Albuquerque NM
Thanks much! This will be my third fall planting garlic and I am really excited about these varieties. ~David, Minneapolis, MN

I hope all is well and the crops are happy. You know, You might have the best garlic farm around. When we compared notes. Your garlic was the biggest and best looking. Your farm pictures are beautiful. ~ Jack, St Louis, MO
