Siciliano – Artichoke softneck variety. Originated from Sicily and discovered by Richard Smith of Kettle Falls, Washington, at a Santa Fe, New Mexico farmers market. Extremely adaptable: Siciliano can adapt to cold winter climates as well as warm southern climates. The large bulbs are dappled with purple and pink tones and often grow to over three inches in diameter. Artichokes have medium heat, with a nice smooth after taste.
