Turban hardneck variety. Turbans are a sub-species of Artichoke garlic. A huge producer here in the Northwest, Thai Purple always yields a bountiful harvest for us. Extremely adaptable, Thai Purple is a great varietal for varied climates; it can handle hot dry climates as well as cold northern climates. Thai Purple has moderate to strong heat, especially when eaten raw. The outer skin is pinstriped with attractive silky white and amethyst stripes. 6 – 8 cloves per bulb. 38 – 48 cloves per pound. Early harvest. Stores 6 – 7 months. Hot.
