Khabar – Marbled Purple Stripe hardneck variety. Marbled Purple Stripes are a sub-species of the Purple Stripe group, so they have terrific flavor, but they tend to have much larger and fewer cloves that make them a pleasure to peel. The bulb skins have a marbling pattern of rich purple and ivory. Marbled Purple Stripes are high in the sulfur compound allicin.
Khabar Garlic characteristics: 6-10 cloves per bulb. 38-42 cloves per pound. Mid to late harvest. Stores 6 months. Recommended for Zones 1-7. Medium.
