Romanian Red – Porcelain hardneck variety. Introduced to British Columbia from Romania, AKA “Red Elephant Garlic”. A high yielding Porcelain garlic and it is recorded to yield the greatest amount of allicin, at 7.7 mg. The high content of allicin, gives Porcelains a hot, sulfurous flavor. Allicin helps increase circulation and boosts the immune system. The bulb skins are light tan to salmon pink in color, with giant cloves. Good storage quality for a Porcelain.
