Shatili – Purple Stripe hardneck variety. Originated from the village of Khevsur, in Shatili, Republic of Georgia, on the boarder of Chechnya. Cultivated at 4,750 feet, makes it a great choice for high altitude gardens in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. It can really handle extreme cold winter climates and high elevations. Purple Stripes are known as the “best bakes”. Shatili has the classic rich purple pinstripes of a Purple Stripe, great storage and terrific flavor.
Shatili garlic characteristics: 10 – 12 cloves per bulb. 50 – 60 cloves per pound. Late harvest. Stores 5 – 6 months. Hot.
